About Ivan Giddings

Starting with just an idea to improve mouthpieces - Giddings Mouthpieces has grown to develop and deliver the finest mouthpieces available anywhere.

 Ivan Giddings has his masters in tuba performance from Pennsylvania State University.  In his efforts to improve response, articulation, and overall ease of playing he was led to mouthpiece design.  The teachers that have heavily influenced Ivan are Robert Harold, Rex Turner, Marty Erickson, and Arnold Jacobs.

Giddings Mouthpiece started as an idea

Ivan Giddings and his business partner met in November 2000, each with their first prototype stainless steel mouthpieces.  They were impressed with what the other could do, and the Giddings & Webster collaboration began.   After three years of discussion, prototypes, and research and development the two had created a truly unique line of mouthpieces unlike anything in the world.  These mouthpieces sounded, responded, and played better than anything on the market.

 Today, while the company has grown - Ivan is constantly improving the design and manufacturing of stainless steel and titanium mouthpieces.  Diligence towards constantly striving to create perfection in their mouthpieces means that GW mouthpieces will meet the needs of players everywhere in any playing situation.
